Accessibility statement

I want anyone to be able to read this site, including people using a screen reader, keyboard navigation, magnification, or captions.

What this site aims for

chuckthokey.com aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 at Level AA. That is the standard, not a certification — parts of the site have not been independently audited, so this page says “aims to meet” rather than “conforms.”

What has been done

  • Text and background colours are chosen so body text, headings and links all clear the 4.5 to 1 contrast ratio Level AA requires.
  • Every page uses one H1 followed by a correctly nested heading order, so screen readers can navigate by structure.
  • Links are written to describe where they go. There is no “click here” or “read more” anywhere on the site.
  • Images carry alternative text describing what they show.
  • Layout uses relative units and reflows down to a 320 pixel viewport without horizontal scrolling.
  • The site works without a mouse. Interactive elements are reachable and operable by keyboard.

Known limitations

Videos are hosted on YouTube and inherit whatever captions that platform provides. Some older recordings on other people’s channels carry automatic captions rather than reviewed ones, and a few carry none. Pages linked from here that live on other websites are outside my control.

Telling me about a problem

If something on this site is hard to use or impossible to reach, say so and it gets fixed. Use the contact page and describe the page and what happened. I aim to reply within five business days.
